Oh Baby!

Sometimes all you want is simple food done well. None of that fluffy stuff for me thank you! You know the foams, smoke and soils, or even worse, a plate of food that has far too many ingredients, or a dish that's trying just a little too hard. Well, Baby Pizza is none of that. Instead it's one of a handful of places I keep going back to - and I still get a little thrill every time.

Over the years I've feasted on their pizza's, pastas, perfectly cooked pork chops (when available), delicious side dishes or main salads like Insalata di Pollo. Oh and the divine tiramisu and several house-made biscuits and pastries like the Nutella Bomboloni. I also love their salamis and mozzarella usually paired with a Campari soda.

But these days it's the breakfast that draws me in. There is nothing more satisfying than eggs cooked to perfection eaten in a stylish setting and served by highly competent staff - oh and finished off with a 10/10 coffee!

The Sardinian scrambled eggs with smoked bacon and rocket is perfection. I ordered mine without the sourdough toast (because much to my horror I've developed gluten intolerance, sob) but I didn't miss it at all! Instead, I felt like I was eating like a queen, that's how beautifully the chef prepared my dish.

So clearly, this no ordinary pizza joint. This place is where artisans work, seasonal produce is paramount and specialty products are sourced straight from the mother country. The staff are friendly, the service is polished and the kitchen staff are a dream to watch. All this is overseen of course by the eye-poppingly gorgeous and oh-so efficient Francesca! Sometimes I think I go there just to see her. I like to describe her as a young Sophia Loren - but an edgier, cooler version.

And there's more......the interior is just the right mix of Italian cool, a bit of leather, some marble, sexy lighting and a super fun element you can only enjoy when you go to the loo - Italian lessons streaming from the speakers - love it!
